Town Hall Meeting
Sunday, September 13th, following service
For years, Unity of Traverse City, along with most churches and spiritual centers, has had a leadership model consisting of one person, a minister, and one group, a board. While this model worked for a very long time, a significant decrease in membership, attendance, and involvement in ministries has shown it is no longer working as before.
This situation calls for ministries to adopt a different leadership model that enables congregations to participate more fully in the center's leadership and operations. While we have done this unofficially for five years, we are looking for ways to officially enable the entire community in co-creating its ministry.
To that end, you are invited to a special Town Hall meeting on Sunday, September 13 immediately following Fellowship. Your board of trustees will be presenting a leadership and team based organizational structure where ministry becomes the shared responsibility of the entire congregation, with every member invited to participate in creating a vibrant spiritual community where everyone belongs, everyone contributes, and everyone grows.
